Southeastern
Regional Institute on Deafness (SERID)
This Institute provides educational and professional development for
individuals who work with consumers who are deaf, hard of hearing,
deaf-blind, and late-deafened. The goal of this conference is to promote
collaboration between service providers and communities serving these
consumers within the region. It also provides an avenue for recruiting
new staff for vacant positions as well as a way for rewarding current
staff for the good work they are doing.
Georgia
Department of Education
The Georgia Department of Education oversees public education throughout
the state. It ensures that laws and regulations pertaining to education
are followed and that state and federal money appropriated for education
is properly allocated to local school systems. We also provide
education-related information to students, parents, teachers,
educational staff, government officials, and the media. We hope this
information will help answer people’s questions, empower them with
resources, and allow them to navigate the state’s educational
infrastructure with a minimum of difficulty.

Georgia Department of Labor
Tools
for Life
As Georgia’s Assistive Technology Act Program, Tools for Life works to
increase independence through access to and acquisition of assistive
technology for Georgians of all ages and disabilities.
